Free to all, the second-floor exhibition at the university’s Welcome Center features Peri Schwartz’s works focused on composition and the interplay of color, light and space.

Reared in the Far Rockaway neighborhood of New York’s Queens borough, Schwartz currently lives and works in the southeastern city of New Rochelle, New York. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Boston University’s School of Fine Arts and also holds a Master of Fine Arts from Queens College. Her work is featured in numerous public and corporate collections in the United States and Europe. For more biographical information, visit .

From 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Thursday [Oct. 27], Schwartz will give an artist talk in the Robert and Freda Harrison Auditorium in Giles Hall for MSU students and other interested members of the campus and local communities.

Also on Thursday, a 5 p.m. public reception in Schwartz’s honor will be held in the Cullis Wade gallery. Refreshments will be provided.

The exhibition and related events are made possible by MSU’s Department of Art, home to the Magnolia State’s largest undergraduate studio art program.
