MSU Art's Gallery Director named Research Associate with the Cobb Institute

headshot of Lori NeuenfeldtGallery Director Lori Neuenfeldt has been formally appointed for a three-year term as a research associate with MSU's Cobb Institute of Archaeology. 

Neuenfeldt said she has been collaborating the the Cobb Institute for a few years on exhibitions and student research. She has become familiar with the Cobb Museum collection and uses it as a teaching resource.

"Students in my classes have learned to handle and analyze historic artifacts and create digital scans for 3D printing projects," said Neuenfeldt. "The official appointment grants me continued access and offers opportunities for me to participate with research and projects at the Cobb. I鈥檓 really excited about the title."

Neuenfeldt praised the institute's staff for their support.

"I hope my role will help bring awareness to the Cobb Institute and also serve to continue to strengthen the partnership between Art and the Cobb Institute," she said.

Neuenfeldt joined the MSU Department of Art in 2012 and serves as its gallery director. She earned a Bachelor of Science in studio art in 2002 and a Master of Arts in art history in 2009 from Florida State University.  She teaches courses in art history, senior research and historic costumes.
