Six senior art majors specializing in graphic design at Mississippi State are showcasing their work in a Bachelor of Fine Arts thesis exhibition, available for viewing in-person or online.
Titled 鈥淚n the Making,鈥 the gallery spotlights the seniors鈥 completion of academic and studio work within MSU鈥檚 Department of Art, the state鈥檚 largest undergraduate studio art program. The students under the instruction of Associate Professor of Graphic Design Suzanne Powney this semester are displaying their graphic creations at the Visual Arts Center Gallery through Nov. 21 from 1-6 p.m., but also are available due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Student exhibitor Breanna Rochelle of Nesbit explained that 鈥淚n the Making鈥 refers to the process that comes with creating art, designing and the changes in life. This was instilled by Powney as she guided her students to achieve design goals and exhibit excellence in their work.
Rochelle said, 鈥淭o me, 鈥業n the Making鈥 refers to the fact that we are always growing and changing, and it encourages me to look forward to what comes next for myself. I鈥檓 not finished yet.鈥
