Bird’s Eye View

This work was made as an expression of many parts of myself and my struggles. The cages represent the mind and body as a natural prison. The miniature and doctor are the same person looking into the prison and within the prison itself. My own body has been a prison of struggles as mental and physical issues have continually plagued me. The styles are all inspired by the places that have shaped me, especially my life as a military child has taken me throughout Europe and the US. This body of work is meditative as meditation brings you outside of but aware of your body. The viewer is both the doctor looking in as well as the miniature looking out, trapped in this cycle and struggling to know how to break themselves out.
